Caleb Allen (son of John Peter Allen and Elizabeth Lindsey) was born December 15, 1789 in Woodruff, Spartanburg County, South Carolina, and died December 05, 1850 in Woodruff, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He married Elizabeth Woodruff on December 26, 1816 in Woodruff, South Carolina, daughter of Joseph Woodruff and Anne Lindsey.

I, Caleb Allen, of the State and District aforesaid, being of sound mind, memory & understanding praised be God for the same do make this my last will & testament in manner following.
My wish is that everything should remain in charge of my beloved wife, Elizabeth Allen during her natural life. If either of my children should marry or leave the premises, then they are to receive a portion of property as near equal as what my son Woodard Allen & my daughter Amanda Todd has received; & I also wish my granddaughter, Louisa Amanda Todd, to be raised and educated & no charge against her out of my estate. At the death of my wife, I wish my son, Eber to inherit all of my real estate at a fair valuation...My wife at the council of my two sons (Woodard & Eber) can and may dispose of any property they may think proper--equally dividing the same amongst all the legatees. My 3 grandchildren (Andrew Joseph Todd, Samuel Woodard Todd, and Louisa Amanda Todd) are to receive their mother's proportial part whenever they come of age. All of my just debts to be speedily and punctually paid out of the first monies that may come into the hands of my legal represents. I also wish that they property which has been received of my children Woodard Allen & Amanda Todd to be itemized and then should any of the other children marry of leave, their portion shall likewise be similarly situated. In testimony where or I have set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of November in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and fifty--

Bowden __________________________________________________________________________________ Caleb is buried in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Woodruff, South Carolina. His headstone reads "in Memory of Caleb Allen who died 5th Dec. 1850 in the 61st year of his age. As a husband the dec'd was kind and affectionate, as a Father correct and tender, as a Master decided and reasonable, as a Friend and Neighbor true and constant and for many years an humble member and Deacon of the Baptist Church which office he filled by the exercise of a faithful judgment. to the diffusion of the Gospel and charitable institutions, his heart was ever open, the poor and needy not away empty"
