My research into my family treee began with a Pierce family photograph with the names of each person listed on the back--
This and a memory of my Aunt Lavena telling me about these
people--"this one was a Jennett and this one was a Shourd"--
With those clues I have been able to piece together the Pierce
Family and the Hoods and Jones--all from Southern Illinois--I
have used the resources of The Johnson County Genealogical and
Historical Society--and have found their published census records
invaluable--with the names of my Grandmother's brothers and sisters and a bit of luck, I've found most of the aunts and uncles with their families on these census--most rewarding has been the family I've found using the internet--my GGrandfather's sister's family--through her G Grandson in California and my G G GRandmother's family through her descendents in Missouri--each new person becomes family as
we share information that helps piece this puzzle together.
