Updated May 9, 2005

About Our Family Research

In 1851, Claude Francis Pion (born March 19, 1817), to Francois Pion (b-1784) and Jeanne-Claude Dumonlin (b-1790)in Beveuge, France) and Anne Margurerite Pequignot(born February 23, 1819, in Gouhenans, France) sailed from Le Harve, France, to America, taking with them their daughter Marie Josephine Selina, who was born September 30, 1850, in Gouhenans. During the voyage Anne died (it is believed in childbirth) and was buried at sea.
Arriving December 04, 1851, in New York, Claude and Marie settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana ( near Huntertown). Claude, a farmer and a member of the St. Vincent Catholic Church, became a U. S. citizen on October 6, 1855. In 1854 he married Justine Liallet/Layet and their children were Emille John, Louis Joseph and Florentine Frank. Florentine Frank married Lucretia Lue Null and they had 14 children.
My father (the 11th child) Frankie Florentine married Mary Louise Marks. They had 9 children. I am the second child. My name is Lena Mae (Slauf) now.
The Pion's have a reunion every year in August. I think it is the first Sunday of the month.
Would like to share my info with your info. My e-mail is 2mookie@adelphia.net.
Will include some pictures at a later time. This is still new to me.
