I have been researching my tree for 2 years now and have got back to Nicholas Piper who was born in 1631 in Aberford. His parents were Nicholas and Mary.I have been very lucky to get a lot of help from a very distant relation who has been researching for over 10 years. I would love to find out more about Nicholas/Mary.I have found a reference to a Nicholas Piper in 1566 in the records of the burgery of Sheffield but nothing else so far! I am also working on finding out more about the lives of their descendants. My great grandfather William Doubleday Piper was born in 1883 in Conisbrough. He moved to Sheffield and was a good athlete. He won some races and belonged to Sheffield United Harriers and Vickers Sports Club c1906-1914.He had at least 4 brothers and sisters,Charles G.D,Edgar Arthur,Annie Doubleday and Frank Doubleday. Some members of the family emigrated to Canada but I don't know the dates. The 10 generations from Nicholas to William were all Yorkshire folk. The main places are Aberford,Clayton,Hooton Pagnall,Brodsworth and Conisbrough I would love to hear from anybody with any links or further information.
