Searching for the family of John W. Morris born in NC around 1797. He married a Sarah Jackson of SC or GA. They had appx. 8 children: Mary A. 1829, Jane 1931, Melinda 1834, Decatur 1836, James M. 1838, Ervin Madison (my g-grandfather) 1839, Sarah A. 1841, Lucy (?). E. Madison moved to Gilmer Co. in 1860 and served in the Conf. Army. He married Rebecca Kincaid on 6 May 1864. After the war they moved tto Alabama for a few years then to Murray County, Ga. He died in Murray Co. in 1904 and is buried in the Eton Cemetery.
