Hi! I'm just beginning a treck into my family history. My grandfather, Adolph E. Polfus was born in Warsaw, Poland on 2\19\1883. He came to the United States in 1917 at which time his name was changed to "Polstin". I would love to learn more about his parents and the family I have in Poland. My father, Rudy H. Polstin, passed away on 2/20/97. He wasn't close to his father and chose not to share much information with me. My father did tell me that grandpa Adolph came to the U.S. from "Prusia". History was never my favorite, so I'm not sure of the connection of "Poland" and "Prusia". (Adolph died 9\20\52) My grandma Anna Polstin (nee: Jeske), was born 2\15\1895 in Marathon County Wisconsin. She married Adolph on 11\08\15 in Minneapolis, MN. (Anna died 2\28\65) I was born in 1968, so was not able to meet either grandparent, and have so many questions! I have one paternal uncle who is living: Lawrence Polstin, paternal aunt: Leatha Mickel. My uncle Lawrence has shared the above information with me, which I am very greatful for, however, I would love to know more! Anyone out there with ANY information about the Jeske Family or Polstin/Polfus Family, please e-mail me. Thank you so very much!
Sincerely,
Diana Polstin-Joy
