We are descended from a John Joseph Carney B c1843 Clarecastle Ireland. He migrated to Australia and married Catherine Thompson Fitzgerald (B Oswestry Shropshire England) in 1878 Rockhampton QLD Australia.
His parents were William Kearney and Mary Garrahy/Geraghty.

John and Catherine had the following children:

This Carney line has connections to Fitzgerald, Lynch, Rhall, Gray, Marshall, White, Fairburn, Paul and Dobson.
