The Ansley/Chambers Family

About Our Family Research

I am researching the family history of my grandmother, Mary Martha Ann Chambers Jones. She was born in Waters, AR in 1935 and had a twin brother named John Richard Chambers. Her parents were Richard Chambers and Annie Margaret Ansley Chambers.
Annie was born January 16, 1904 to John Richard Ansley and Mary Elizabeth Hugen(Higgins). Mary Elizabeth was the daughter of German Immigrants. In around 1917, John and Mary Elizabeth traveled cross country by wagon train from Texas. Richard Chambers was born approx. 1898 to Perry Chambers and Martha Ann Chambers.I don't know where he was born. When Richard and Annie were married, their marriage license stated that Richard was from Hoxie, AR. Also, there was a little mistake on the license, which listed my great grandmother's name as Anna, not Annie..But her name is infact, Annie. They were married March 10, 1922 and had 9 children:
Delma (f) b. December 29, 1922
Emagean (f) b. June 18, 1924
Floy (f) b. May 3, 1926
Eunice (f) b. June 15, 1928
Billie Jo (f) b. September 14, 1930
John Richard(m) and Mary Martha Ann(f) twins b. January 21, 1935
Lee Roy(m) b. October 11, 1937
Betty (f) b. December 4, 1939
Frankie(m) b. December 20, 1941 d. est.January 1942

Richard Chambers had four brothers: Ben, Willie, Johnny, and Lem
and two sisters: Laura and Canna

Another interesting tidbit: my gggranny, Mary Elizabeth Ansley was an artist..she has several paintings and sculptures located in the "lum and abner jot 'em down store" in Pine Ridge, AR
