I have been searching for information on my family for years. Unfortunately a great deal of it died with my grandmother, I am sorry that I never asked her sooner. Any connections people can provide would be helpful. I am looking for any information that links further back.

I have been told by family members that there is a link to Matthew Thornton from New Hampshire he was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, but so far have not been able to discover the connection. As well, there is a connection with George Bernard Shaw (poet and playwrite), but I have yet to find it.
The Pretty's in my family come from Ipswich, England (still haven't found that link), but spent a lot of time in Gananoque, Ontario after arriving in Canada. I also have Irish and Scotish heritage (Miller's and Donald's). The Poos line comes from The Netherlands, but have been told by a cousin that if I can go far enough back, I should find "the French Connection" with one of Napolean's soldiers.
