Hello! welcome to our home page. This page is dedicated to genealogy research of the Pooler name, primarily in Canada and Engand. My ancestors emigrated to the Muskoka area of Ontario from Shropshire, England, about 1881. There they were mostly engaged in agriculture from at least the mid 1600's. My grandfather came west and homesteaded in Saskatchewan in 1910. This page will also include the historys of any ancestors of my wife and children, including primarily the names Highton, Elias and Wyatt on my side and Mansuy, Achterberg, Henry and Pou on my wifes side. I began doing research on my family history early in 2001. I have been quite lucky and have learned a lot in a short time through contacts on the Pooler family message forum. I have gained a lot of information in a short time but have not gained the organizational skills as quickly so the work may progress slowly.
