Baker and Young Family

Updated August 1, 2001

About Our Family Research

I have large gaps in my findings. Some places I have hit a dead end. The surnames are many that lead to Baker. On my mothers side we have very little information. We have no records of the Wermick and Michelona familes just some oral history.
I am trying to get information on My grandfather Young's parents. The family that is left can't help. The records I have checked so far for him is for a death certificate. Town of Windham lost them for the year he died. Have checked census records but cannot verify it is the same George Young. Levi Young and Abigail Manchester are listed in the 1860 census, with two sons. George and John. Georges age bracket would fit my great great grandfather if they had taken the exact year instead of bracketing them 0-5, etc. Also looking to gather further information on the Bakers and Shermans. These two names are intertwined in the family on my branch and a cousins branch.
My cousin Albert has original letters which are now in possession of his daughter who intends someday to write a book with what she has.I can't afford some of the fees and the software and don't own a computer at home. I have this e-mail curtesy of the Church I work for. Any help that you can send my way would be greatly appreciated and if I can figure out how to include in the data base all that I have up to now will be glad to do so.
