I am researching my family tree. I have some research through my sister and brother and a cousin on my father's side.married Allen Hughgard Pool/e( spelled without the "e" on his birth certificate). I have been told that it was orginally spelled Pool, ( origin being American Indian, Cherokee tribe) to survive during those times someone added the "e" to the end, so as to appear caucasian. Since American Indians were not treated well during those times.Surnames connected with my father's side of the family are Pool/e, Ellis, Mobley, Reeves,Patterson. I have a fairly extensive family tree already done by my cousin. Most of my family was from the states of Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, some still live in Oklahoma, some ancestors originated in England. My father's family came from Forney, Alabama, moved to Rome,GA area when he was a little boy. I have relatives in Northeast & NorthWest GA, Northern Alabama ( in the towns of Centre,Cedar Bluff, family there are Hites, Coheley's, TN, and Oklahoma around Oklahoma City and Enid.North Carolina,Virginia,Texas,South Carolina. Family names that are also connected to me are, Trotter, Hayes, Gibson,Smart and many more too numerous to list here.My gr.gr.gr grandfather was John Hood Pool, said to have been full blood Cherokee, school teacher and was married three times, Born in GA and lived in AL,GA. & East TN. John Hood Pool died in East,TN,probably Blount County. around the Maryville area possibly, (or a town talked about in a letter from 1938, Midtown,TN.)I have connections to the former CHEROKEE NATION, now various counties in Georgia.Forsyth County,GA has a great connection to my Gravitt and Holland ancestors, Also Gilmer County,GA. I am searching for my gr.gr. grandmothers' parents and their vital info. and more. If anyone thinks that they are connected to my family tree please contact me with your information and we can compare and see. Thank You, Susan(poole)Howell Cartersville, Georgia
