I have more written information about my family and would love to share it with interested relatives. My Porteous grandfather came to California in 1922 from Canada. His father was born in White Hall, New York. We are emigrated to Canada from Scotland, several ggenerations ago. The Middelkoop family came to California in 1934. They were from Chicago, Illinois and had come from Canada and Holland, The Netherlands. I hope everyone who is interested will take the time to e-mail me with their information! I am also interested in finding lost info on the Capshaw family of Virginia and Yazoo City, Mississsippi (1800's).
