My parents grew up in a very small town in Western Kansas with a population of about 250 (two hundred and fifty.) Several of my great-grandparents and all of my grandparents were still on this earth when I was born. My last surviving great-grandparent passed away when I was about 10 (ten) years old, and at the age of 42 (forty two,) I am happy to say that two of my grandparents are still in this world. I consider myself fortunate to have grown up in a large nuclear family, not only getting to know my cousins, aunts and uncles, but also my second and third cousins and great aunts and uncles. The research I do now is for my two sons, so they might know more about those relatives that were a part of their father's life.
