I have just begun to research the Porter family and have a few names, dates and places. I would like to learn more about my great grandmother and great grandfather, Elizabeth Yingling and Wilfred Chapman Porter, Jr.. His father, W.C. Porter, Sr., came from Eel River, Canada to work the coal mines in PA. where he met and married Elizabeth (1885-90??). They had eight children, and the youngest was my grandfather, Wesley Morton Porter (b.6/20/1897, d. 6/3/1943). The other children included Jacob, Gertrude,Labanna, Florence, Glade, Oscar and Raymond. The family moved to ME (Patten/Mt. Chase area) where my grandfather was born. Most of the other children were born in Westover,PA, I believe.
