The Porkka Family Tree

Updated July 29, 2001

About Our Family Research

Recently I came into possesion of the Finnish Family Bible (from circa 1875) that cronicles the family of Samuel and Anna Selotta (nee Kankonen) PORKKA who were Finnish immigrants to the the Vancouver Washington, USA area. They are my great great grandparents. They originally settled in the Brush Prairie Washington, USA area. They had 11 children. Some remained in the United States while others immigrated to the Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada region in the 1920's to homestead farms. I am beginning to try to trace the 11 children and their decendants. Samuel Porkka senior (born January 6, 1852-died June 5, 1919) is buried in the Finnish Cemetery in Hockinson, Washington, USA. I would eventually like to look farther back to Finnish roots in Finland as well. I have no information on any family in roots in Finland Any Porkkas please feel free to contact me:-)
