During the past 25+ years I have been researching my father's ancestry. I have accumulated a great deal of information which focuses mainly on the descendants of Latney Day Porter (and his 2 wives) and his sister, Amy (Porter) Shadduck. Warren's father, Daniel William Porter is a 3rd gen. descendant of Latney and Warren's mother, Mary Helen Rumsey is a 3rd gen. descendant of Amy. Of Latney's 21 children, 17 left descendants and of Amy's 13, 10 left descendants. I have recorded descendants of Jeremiah Rumsey of Sullivan Twnp., Tioga Co., PA, he being a Revolutionary War veteran. I have also recorded descendants of Joel & Mary (Holbrook) Wright of Bradford Co., PA. During my research I put much work in the history and settlement of Fox Township, Sullivan Co., PA where 9 of my ancestors had been recorded as residents in various county, civil and federal records. I have also recorded the internments (as of 1983) of the West Hill and Brown cemeteries in Fox Twnp. and the Friends' Burial Grounds in Elkland Twnp., just across the Fox Twnp. line. Census records from Fox Twnp. have been recorded and indexed as well. I spent many weekends in the Shunk area, speaking with many of my distant relatives, either in person or on the telephone. Many letters were written and received and I had attended some of the family reunions pertaining to my research. Photographs were taken of many pertinent grave markers in many different cemeteries. Among the names researched are: PORTER, CODDINGTON (my mother's family),RUMSEY, WRIGHT, SHADDUCK/SHATTUCK, GRAY, WILCOX, BROWN, LUCE, VROMAN, AUSTIN, FIELDS, MORGAN, FANNING, SARGEANT/SARGENT and WILLIAMS.
