Jim and I are both originally from Scott County, TN., each of us with a rural background. Born and raised near the County seat of Huntsville, TN.

Jim claims to have been a 'city' kid, living on a paved road and having ice delivered to his home for the ice-box, while my claim to fame was having a 'rolling-store' come to our community once in a while.

Most of our family research has been done by visiting cemeteries, talking to the family members, and using the computer in later years. My sister, Louetta, was the first one to interest me in the family ancestery.

We had family reunions, Posey/Owens for a few years, and had a great turn-out. Eventually, it became just the Posey's, and then in later years, only my mom, Tempa Posey, and her children and grandchildren.

With Mom dying in 2003, Louetta in 1994, J.B. in 2005, I doubt there will be farther reunions, but the ancestery information needs to go on.
