David (Twin) Ogden (son of John Ogden and Jane Bond) was born 11 Jan 1639 in Bradley Plain, Hampshire, England, and died 27 Feb 1692 in Newark, NJ. He married Elizabeth Swaine on 1676, daughter of Samuel Swaine and Johannah Ward.

Elizabeth Swaine, wife of David Ogden, was first married to her cousin Josiah Ward. At the time that the Bradford colonists came to Newark she is said to have been the first to land.
David Ogden,1639-1691, son of John moved from Elizabethtown to Newark in 1676, where he is described as a "stone church builder."

Swaine Ogden was born in Newark, but married in Hackensack MaretjeAckerman, of Dutch descent, and they lived there until 1722 when they moved back to Newark. He probably lived in the area that became Orange, NJ because he and his family are buried in the old cemetery at Orange. In 1735 a plague of diphtheria swept from MA through CT to NY and NJ, killing hundreds of children. Swaine and Mary Ogden lost their three youngest children ages 6, 9, and 11, in less than a week.

John Ogden came to Southampton, Long Island, NY in 1640 with his wife Jane Bond Ogden, son John, and twins David and Jonathan. He was a leader among settlers in founding the town. He later moved to Stamford, CT, Hempstead, Long Island, back to Southampton, and in 1665the was a founder of Elizabethtown, NJ. In 1673 he was the changeover East Jersey.
