She was affectionally known as "Baba" to her grandchildren. Graddaughter Virginia remembers that her Grandmother, Mary was a very tiny lady. Virginia was taller than her grandmother. Virginia recalls that grandmom had a rocking chair in her bedroom.

Marriage Notes for Mary Balint and George Lakatosh: As you stood in front of the house and looked out, you would see a steep grassy hill on top of which was a railroadand a canal along the tracks. Often, the canal would overflow its banks and flood the Lakatos home. There was a pump sink in the kitchen and an out-house in the back yard.
