We a currently researching the Proctor name to find our family roots, and need all the help we can get. The only information available at this time is this; Joshua Proctor, of Edgecombe County, N.C., had six sons, some possible names are; Thomas, John, Lawrence, David, if you have any information availble to share, we will share what we have to date, thanks before time for any help you may give.

Joshua L. Proctor, Private for CSA, resided in Edgecombe Co., N.C. where he enlisted at the age of 18, on Aug. 31st, 1863, for the civil war. Present and Accounted for at the Southerland's Station, Virginia, was captured and confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, where he stayed until released on June 17th, 1865, after taking the oath of allegiance.
