PROPHET

The family of William Paddy Prophet & wife Kitty (Whetter) of Mara township, Ontario came from Cornwall England with their children in 1869. They sailed from England on the SS Prussian (Dutton captain) on April 22, 1869. Their oldest daughter Susan Ann (William Thomas) did not emigrate with them.

The curious thing about the family of William & Kitty is that all their children's name start with the letter "S". In all seven children started a new life in Ontario with their parents. The wife and 2 children of Silas Prophet included.

PATRICK

On my mother's side her grandfather Joseph Patrick married Olivia Galbraith. Both of County Tyrone, Ireland and immigrated to the Ottawa, Ontario area.

The family of John W Ross, wife Sarah Eleanor Rutledge, adopted Gertrude Read in 1898 at the age of 3. This is my toughest research since I can't seem to find any info on Gertrude's biological family.
