I have a brouchure(narrative)written by Clara Pronovost finished in 1954.It starts with the Rouillard de Prenouveau's arriving in Lorette, Quebec. The first name is Mathieu Rolliard with a member of his family taking the Preouveau surname in 1714. It was changed to Pronovost in 1735. I have tracked the family back to 1581 in France. The records stopped there. There were 2 sons Ignace and Guillaume who were the first to use the Prenouveau (Prenoveau) surname. Ignace had a daughter Josephite Prenouveau-Rouillard. The narrative then picks up with George Rouillard (Prenouveau, Pronovost) born in St Genevieve de Batiscan, Quebec in the mid 1880's. He had 4 chldren then his firsy wife died he remarried and had Clara, Regina, Pierre,(my grandfather)George, and Wilbert. The brochure includes life stories, deaths, marriages, births travels and where most settled ending in Waterbury, Ct. There is a gap in informaion from Mathieu,s children (early 1700's) to George Rouillard, my great grandfather.
