I've done research by visiting the Genealogy Libraries in Salt Lake City, Utah and Fort Wayne, Indiana. I've visited research centers and cemeteries in Salem and Paoli, Indiana where my father and his parents were born. In Salem, a librarian told me I should contact a person named Marcus Prow who lived in French Lick, Indiana, because she believed he and I were searching for the same relatives. By mail I met Marcus Prow and we soon linked our relationship as being third cousins, once removed, with a common ancestor being Christian Prow. In further study I found that my great grandfather, named John Pro, was first married to Elizabeth Richards and most of their children used the last name of Prow. After Elizabeth's death, John married Hulda French and all of their descendants have used the name Pro. John Pro and Hulda French are buried side by side in a cemetery in Paoli, Indiana. I have a photo taken by my wife, Denna, of me standing beside the tombstone of John that clearly shows he used the name, "Pro". Accordingly, I have no doubt that all "Pro's" are related to all "Prow's"!
