About Our Family Research


Michael Joseph Shenigo arrived in America in the late 1890s from Kelce, Zemplen, Slovakia. He worked in the southwestern Pennyslvania coal mines near Windber and Cairnbrook. He was married to Maria Jankanic who was born in Ol'Sava, Slovakia. Both birthplaces were part of the Austro-Hungarian empire at the time.
