The Shouse Family of Hickman County, Tennessee

Updated March 3, 2001

About Our Family Research

I have been researching the Shouse family of Hickman County for many years. My interest started when I found the family Bible with names and dates of my ancestors. I still live on part of the original Shouse farm, owned first by Jacob Shouse. Unfortunately, the Shouse name has pretty much died out in Hickman County, my father being the last of that name here. I have been blessed to have access to old family papers, including ledgers and journals from Jacob's son Van Buren and his son, James Dibsell, and to have in my possession old family pictures.
