I have just started my research lately,both of my grandparents, Harlan{Stewart as he was refered to as} and Erma Odessa Shannon Hunter. They are part Dane and lived in Sac County and Then Moved to Newell{Buena Vista county}.My mother was born late in my grandma Ermas life{early 40's}on May 28th 1937 or 1938.She was named Donna Lee Hunter. She had an older sister,Geraldine and two older brothers Elwood Alvin Hunter who served in the Navy W.W.11. He died in a car accident a few months after he got back from the Service in Sept. 1945. The other brother is Robert D. Hunter and he is still alive. My Grandpa's mothers maiden name was Dora Harper and that's all I know about that side. My grandmother's parents were Alfred or Alvin and Emma {Baker} Shannon,and from what I gather are buried in Waukee Iowa Cemetary.My grandpa had 1 brother Charles LaVern Hunter and he also lived in Newell with his wife Gertrude.Yhey had no children.His sister was Babe. My Grandma had 3 brothers,Wiley, Howard and Jesse. Jesse committed suicide and I don't know when,but his children hadn't reached adulthood at the time. My Grandparents,and Uncle Elwood are buried in Sac city cemetary in Sac County ,Sac City Iowa.My Aunt Gerildine Robinson is buried in Newell Cemetary,Newell,Iowa.WE HOLD A HUNTER FAMILY REUNION THE 2ND SAT. OF AUGUST EACH YEAR, sometimes it's in Newell and others at Jester Park {by Granger,Iowa}. That's all I know for now. Rose
