The Tribble's & Schutz's of Illinois-Decendents & Ancestors

Updated October 30, 2004

About Our Family Research

My name is Brenda L. Pryor and I live in Illinois. My father was Brian E. Tribble who was killed in a car accident when I was not quite six months old. Even through I was adopted by a step father, when I was almost 4, I was still lucky enough to be able to spend each and ever summer in the home town of my father with his family, Grandma (Ruth) Tribble & Grandpa (Stanley)along with my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Steve. But my most cherished memories are of the time I spent with my Great Grandmother Edith Schutz. I do remember Grandpa Schutz, how big he was, and the smell of his pipes, but he died when I was 10 and the up until Grandma Schutz died in 1977 my summers were with her and the chickens. Her son, Uncle Bud live just up the road and he had two sons, Bobby D & Kenny. Bobby D was just a few years older than me, so we played together a lot more than we did with Kenny. And if my memory serves me correctly, he usually tried to get me trouble, but we did have a lot of fun. I learned many of lifes very important lessons from Bobby D, like how to drive a go cart and the art of lighting and throwing a firecracker without it blowing up in your hand. Honestly I don't have one memory of my time spent with my fathers family that is not happy, except for when I had to leave and go back to the real world. It is probably safe to say that every child has a family member that they seem to become more attached to, and Grandma Schutz was mine. She taught me what it meant to really Love someone, I can honestly say that she is the first person in my life that I knew in my heart, Loved me,Just because of me, and no other reason. When I look back at how my Grandma protected me, and all of the things that I was not told about my father, I understand why she did. Especially much more now that I have my own children, than I ever could have then. I started searching in to my family's past because I was diagnosed with a kidney disorder that I have been lucky enough to find out about intime to have it corrected and monitored, but it is a heriditary condition, and with 4 kids that is something that a mom wants to know for sure, and so do my doctors. That is why I started this process of elimination with trying to get some information from my fathers medical records, or records that were connected to his medical records, the car accident he died in. But in all honesty the more I find out the more questions I have. But the biggest one of all is Where is Brian Eugene Tribble, Jr., my Brother that I read about in the newspaper articles about my fathers death? I will look till I find out, and after that who knows, but my kids are not going to be in dark about anything in their past. Unfortuantly they will never have the memories that I have of fathers family, but I will do the best I can to make sure that all of their questions are answered and their kidneys will remain healthy forever. If anyone reading this knew the Schutz's of White Hall, IL - Schutz's Mill- Walkerville- Hillview you will understand my feelings of my Grandma Schutz, there will never be any one that could compare to her, never.

Family Photos
  • Brenda's Only Family Portrait with her Dads Family (33 KB)
This day will always be frozen in time for me. Grandma getting me ready, and ready again, and again, and giggling and laughing the entire time. Then after the pictures were over, my first trip to the Smorgasborg Restarant. I admit the gloves were very itchy.
  • This is My Father, Brian Ernest Tribble, Sr. (34 KB)
My dad was 21 years old in this photo. It was not a picture that was taken like most, it was painted and then photographed somehow, I am not sure but I remember Grandma telling me there were no recent photos of my dad when he died, which is why they had a portrait done, I believe. And yes, I think that he did look like Elvis too.
  • My Greatgrandparents Ernest & Edith Schutz (33 KB)
This picture was taken a short time before their 50th wedding anniversary. Grandpa was very glad that he didn't have to dress like this very often. We were at the restaurant when Grandpa pinched my belly and said clean up that plate sis so we can head home, my overalls are yelling for me. Then Grandma swatted him with her napkin and said Ernie you leave that girl alone. He was a man of few words, but they were all good ones.
  • Edith Schutz & Brian Ernest Tribble Sr. (78 KB)
This photo is of my Great Grandma Schutz & my father when he was about a month old. The only picture I have of them together. Plus the only one of Grandma with Brown Hair. But if you noticed she still has on a apron.
  • The Pryor Family WOW (68 KB)
We are the modern day Brady Bunch, except we don't have maid. Oops, yes we do that would be me, Mom and I am also the taxi driver, tutor, cook, coach, counselor, psychologist, mind reader, nurse, teacher, laundry specialist, atm machine, and anything that is required. Believe it or not, I wouldn't change a thing. And Yes, I am out of my mind, but oh well...life is short
  • The Tribble House & Uncle Steves Mustang (39 KB)
Grandma, Grandpa,Uncle Steve, & Aunt Nancy lived in this house, and when I would visit for the summer, if I wasn't at Grandma Schutz's I was here. Believe it or not, Uncle Steve taught me how to drive a stick shift in this car. He wasn't real happy when we went in the ditch, but he said he expected it. I also drove the riding lawnmower through the side of the barn out back,to which he was not real please either. They never wanted me to get my license...
