About Our Family Research

I am the great grandson of Michael/Matthew Pulokas who came to the USA from Lithuania in 1900. Not sure of his exact given name because it was always Mike or Michael in the US, but it was probably something more like the Lithuanian version of Matthew. On the ship passenger list it was Matthew. When his brother Karl arrived in the U.S., he listed his destination contact as his brother "Mateunas" or something like that.

My great-grandfather originally moved to Chicago and married Domicela Venskunaite, then they moved to Thorp, Wisconsin where they owned a dairy farm. They had three children: Anton (my grandfather), Joseph (never married), and Walter (never married). Anton Pulokas married Martha Petruzates and had two children: Paul (my father) and Patricia.
