Hello, I have been searching for quite awhile on the Tilden Family Tree. My greatest source of information was from the Latter Day Saints Family history section near where I live. Also they have their familysearch.org on the internet which is quite useful as well. Any way I have made a lot of discoveries going as far back as the Crusades in England from Tyldenn, Kent England. Sir Richard Tyldenn who is believed to have gone with Richard 1 over in Palestine with the Crusades. The Tilden Family is believed to be related to William the Conquerer through the Norman Earl Of Chester.I have traced our family to Walter Tyldenn, of Tyldenn, County Kent, England. Most Tilden's from North America from what I was told are related to Nathaniel Tilden who came over to Plymouth, Mass.,U.S.A. after the Mayflower, on the ship "Hercules" with his wife Lydia Huckstep, seven children and seven servants, Nathaniel Tilden when he was in England was the Mayor of Tenterden, and his father Thomas was a Jurate of Local Magistrates of Tenterden, Kent, England.
My Lineage is related to Nathaniel Tilden through his son Stephen Tilden 2nd. Stephen who became a large proprietor of land in Connecticut (Lebanon), his wife Hannah Little's mother Ann Warren and her family came over on the Mayflower. I have some relations who came from Connecticut to an area in Quebec with New England Settlers. My great great Grandfather Charles Tilden was involved in the Rebellion of Canada 1837.
