Six generations of the Patrick Quilty lineage lived on the South Shore of Prince Edward Island, Canada. On his tombstone, it states that he emigrated from Waterford, Ireland in 1830...however, his sister's stone states c.1829. Although the family remains on the island today, a number of it's descendants have also spread throughout Canada (Ontario and Saskatchewan) as well as to parts of the U.S.
