I have been searching my Burgin and associated family lines and have got as far back as 1668 with the birth of Thomas Burgon in Great Berkhamstead. The surname has changed spelling through numerous ways ( Burgen, Burgoine) to the present Burgin, but is probably due to whoever recorded the births of each person and to how they spelt it. My more recent ancestors were from Bovingdon in Hertfordshire and also Watford Hertfordshire. Associated surnames I am interested in are Shrimpton, Stamper, Kirby, Doman, Harris,Clark and Cross. The Kirbys and Stamper families were from yorkshire. The Harris and Cross family from around Buckinghamshire. The Doman and Shrimpton sides from Watford Hertfordshire and the Clark family from Lincolnshire. I think that way back, the Domans were from Wiltshire and the Shrimptons from Buckinghamshire. I would like to hear from anyone who might think that they are related in some way.
