My family, the Raftery's, came from Ireland to Massachusetts, in the mid 1800's. The patriarch of the tree (so far) is Thomas D. Raftery (d. 1939) and he married Mary Ellen O'Brien. One of their sons, Edward C. Raftery, Sr., my grandfather, married into the Titus family, which traces its roots to America in 1635. I have been unsuccessful in tracing my Raftery roots any further. The surnames that make up my family history are : Raftery, Titus, Jacobsen, Betsch, Hvite, McCarthy, Soule, O'Brien, Driscoll, Collins.
