My research started in Austin at the State Library where I read a book called "The Rainbolt Family" by Earle Homer Brown. He and others had already traced the Rainbolt's back to Joseph Rainbolt in North Carolina in the early 1700's. This book along with stories and memories has led me to find several branches to our tree, some going back to "Royalty" in the years of 900AD to 1036AD in Normandy. It would appear that we traveled from North Carolina to Tennessee. From there we seem to have split and some went north to Indiana and some went south to Alabama. Then came the inevitable move westward. It seems like when we got to Arkansas there was another difference of opinion and another split occured. We have Rainbolt's in the Indian Terretory (Oklahoma) and then Rainbolt's in Texas. This is where I come into the picture. But the migration isn't over, as the families move farther west. Some settling in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and even in California. We were "fruitful and multiplied" for now we are everywhere! From the "Reinboldt's" of Germany to the "Rainbolt's" of Alaska, we encompas the world!!
