I'm in the process of documenting our family history, in specific terms for recent generations and in more general terms before that. The event which brought my ancestors from Ulster to Canada in 1847 was the Potato Famine. The event which saw my forefathers emigrate from Scotland to Co. Antrim around 1603 was the Planation of Ulster. My research points to Pictish origins in the Aberdeen/Angus counties of Scotland.
