Still compiling information about the Raines family when it first appeared in Missouri in the early 1800's and then spread to Texas. The earliest ancestor with any factual information is James Alfred Raines. He was born in TN. in 1830 and died in Missouri, Bates county in 1904. His father, George Raines, is still an unknown at this time.
