I am married to Ray Felix Ramirez. We have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl, Jeremy David Valdez(1974), Jason Paul Shepherd(1975), Jesse Ray Ramirez(1988) and Kealoha Shalei Ramirez(1985). My boys are all on their own and my daughter has graduated from USC and is back at home now. Jeremy is married to Nichole Knuppel and they have two children, Noah Jerome and Justice Kealani. They are happily living in Oxnard. Jesse has a daughter, Noelani. Her mommy is Marcelyn Alamares Hinahon, who lives in Oxnard. Jesse is back at home. Jason lives in Thousand Oaks with friends. Now for my ancestry, my father, Manuel Costello Valdez, was born on April 29, 1923 in Baleno, Masbate, Camarines Sur, Philippines. His birth name was Emmanuel Pilario Florencio Clarito Valdez Castillo. His parents were Diego Orecido (O'Shea) Valdez and Rosario Castillo. My Grandfather, Father Diego, was a Roman Catholic Priest. He later married my grandmother when he retired from the Priesthood. The parents of Deigo were Lucio Valdez and Patricia Orecido(O'Shea). He was the youngest of ten children. My great-grandmother is from Ireland, of the O'Shea Clan. I beleive the name O'Shea was changed to Orecido to hide that they were from Ireland. My father died January 15, 2003 in Santa Paula, CA. He was married to my mother, Josephine Gumapas Cailao, on July 3, 1954 in Guam. She was born Jesusa Laguardia Figueroa on December 25, 1935 to Fermin Figueroa and Juana Laguardia in Tanza, Cavite, Philippines. Her name and birth date were changed when she was adopted by Fermin's first cousin, Maria Figueroa Gumapas, to Josephine Gumapas Cailao born January 2, 1935.
