David Raphael was born in Barton Mills Suffolk, and grew up since age 4, in Cardiff, Wales. My mother, Helen (nee Clifford) and her father Albert George Clifford were from Hampstead, London NW2

Our Ancestors include Louis Henry Clifford (Born in 1805). His father was Samuel Edwards (Born in Limerick Ireland), so Louis was adopted by a couple called Clifford, and he took their name in about1821.
One of Louis's sons was Frederick George Clifford, who was father to Albert George, my maternal Grandfather
My mother married Ralph Joseph Raphael in December 1940 when he was a Squadron Leader in the RAF. They were based in RAF Mildenhall in 1942 whwn I was born.
Ralph's father Abraham Raphael (Born 1875) came from Plotzk, Warsaw Poland, which at that time was ruled by Russia. He was therefore a Russian citizen. He came to London in about 1901 and married Annie Voninuska. Ralph was born on 27 December 1910.
Ralph had a brother called Phillip. They opened a restaurant called Farmer Giles in Cardiff. Phil married Bunty Lewis and they had a daughter called Diana
