Samuel Edwards was born in Ireland in 1767. He married Susanna HERMITTE in 1798 in Gosport England. One of his sons was Henry Lewis Edwards, born 1805 in Chatham, Kent, UK. Henry was christened in 1819 by a Thomas and Mary Ann CLIFFORD(her maiden name was Hopkins. He seems to have been adopted by the Cliffords.

Henry Lewis took the name CLIFFORD from that time, and called himself LEWIS HENRY CLIFFORD. To keep links with the Edwards name he called one of his sons Louis Edwards and another William Edwards.
I am Lewis Henry Clifford's G-G Grandson. My mother Helen Clifford married my father Ralph Joseph RAPHAEL in December 1940.
