I am researching both sides of my father's family. His
father's name was Harold Fowler Hupman; His mother's name
was Eva Sophia Cromer. They lived around the Yellow Springs,
Fairborn, Springfield, Enon area of Clark and Greene Counties
in Ohio. Ancestors also lived in the Greenville/ Darke County
Ohio area. Both families have been traced back to
Virginia(Hupman) and Pennsylvania/Maryland (Cromer). Cromer may also have been spelled "Craumer". I have traced the Hupmans back to John Hupman, Sr. (aka John Hupman I) from Staunton,Augusta County, VA. He was born Dec. 26, 1789. His wife was Elizabeth Fauber(Faber?) (born Apr. 11, 1791). John and Elizabeth were married in Staunton, Augusta Co., VA on Mar. 4, 1813. They are buried in Clark Co., OH. Other names are: Worden, Fowler. I have also traced the Cromers back to George Washington Cromer( born Oct.18,1815 in Adams Co.(?)PA.) He married Emma Sophia Althouse in Dec.1845 (perhaps in MD) Other names are: Gulick, and Patty.
