We had the advantage of Parents and Grandparents who valued Family and kept pretty good records on paper and listed in the Family Bible. Starting with this information enabled us to jump start and basically just fill in the blanks. My cousin did the paternal side of my family ,my Mother-in-law made records of her family. Sadly however my husbands paternal side stops at his grand parents. Grandma came over from Germany at 3 with her Father and a sister, she never knew her mother and her Father wouldn't tell her. Grandpa must have been something of the 'black sheep because not much is available about him either.We do however have over 300 names already and where we have information we go back 4-7 generations.
