The Adventures of a Canadian Tradition- Ratajzack to Alcock

Updated March 17, 2002

About Our Family Research

I have researched into my acestral lineage in Canada, mostly on my maternal side. I have found records dating back to 1866 and farther. They are very intersting and would make an excellent book one day. My family's surnames include Ratajzack, Moe, Davey, Low, Alcock, and many more. They spanned from Norway to England, to mostly within Canada Mitchell Ontario, Manitoba [including Fort Gary during the first Riel Rebellion], and finally Granville, now called Vancouver. My ancestors include the inventor of the air brake, namers of towns in Manitoba, and British fighters in the Riel Rebellion [my great great grandfather was mistaken for the Governor Louis Riel wanted to capture, but was set free. Later he helped Thomas Scott] and many more things of interest. I love this country. VIVE LE CANADA!!!
