The Steinkes of Michigan

So far this is still in the beginning stages which I hope will grow in the coming weeks. From what I know the original Steinkes, which included five brothers and three sisters came over to the states via Canada circa 1900-1910. Most of them settled in the fruitbelt area of Southwestern Michigan and were farmers. Even though they were German they emigrated from a region called Vohlynia, which at that time was part of Czarist Russia and now I think is part of the Ukraine.
Ever since 1929 there has been a Steinke Reunion held annually each fall. At its height in the mid 1960's the attendance would be around 500 relatives at the reunion.
