I am looking for my ancestors who came from Listowel, Co Kerry, Ireland My g.g. grandmother (Joanna Lyons) ran away to England and married Patrick Callaghan against her family's wishes. She tried to contact her family on several occaisions but they had cut all ties. Her father, James Lyons, was a Merchant Tinsman and his business was on Pound Lane (Griffiths Valuation 1852) now known as Church St. Listowel. He was still there in 1886, 1894 and 1906 in Slaters Directory. He also had a farm and outbuildings in the Derry area of Listowel, which he rented and where the family resided. The Lyons Family hired help to raise and sell horses and cattle. Joanna's brother, Michael Lyons was a Tea Wines & Spirits Merchant to the US Liners and he was also an agent for Irish emigrants to go to the USA. Another brother, Denis Lyons, was an Auctioneer, Valuer and Cattle Salesman and had business premises in Church St. Listowel. Having trouble finding any of the family deaths - they may have moved to the USA- can anyone help? I checked the death register at St Mary's RC Church in Listowel but they only had the deaths registerd form 1926-1945.
