I have recently undertaken research on my family from Minnesota, originally from Sweden and Norway. My birth name was Joan Arlene Hagen. I was born in Bemidji, Minnesota on February 29. 1036. My mother, born 5/14/10, Hazel (Johnson) Hagen, daughter of Gustav Arvid Johnson and Carrie (Nestberg)Danielson of Rosie, Minnesota, previously from Sweden, Carrie arrived at Ellis Island with her uncle, Herman Nestberg, in l900 or so.
My information regarding the Norwegian branch is that Bernt Paulson married Pernilla. Their child, Barnhard Bernbaum Hagen was born July 10, 1880, in either Aacru or Aabues, Norway, near Trendheim/Gunsdal. He was confirmed on September 30, 1985, and immigrated to the U.S. with two brothers. He married Julia Liend, daughter of Louis Liend and Kari Hanson. I understand that Barnhard was a member of the "King's Guard".
We would also like to research my husband's family from Montenegro, Yugoslavia: Stevo Raznatovic and Jelena Vujanovic.
Prior to WWWII they lived in Dodosi, and later in Cetinje.
