Johann Jacob Epting (son of John Adam Epting Sr and Christina Barbara Osiander) was born 28 Apr 1745, and died Abt. 1800 in South Carolina. He married Barbara Geiselhart, daughter of Johannes Geiselhart and Anna Maria Herrmann.

In 1798 Jacob Epting sold a 100 acre tract on a branch of Crims Creek to George Stoudemire (B.H. Holcomb, Memorialized Records of Lexington District, SC, 1814-1825). This land was the 100 land grant of 1774 to Barbara Ge8iselhart (Kiselhot in Colonial SC record).

Jacob Epting received compensation on 10 July 1786 for Provisions for the Militia during the Revolutionary War (Stub Indents 3254). In 1791, he obtained a 780 acre grant on waters of Camping Creek. Parts of this land were sold in 1837 and 1840 by his son George Epting, Sr. (Lexington Deeds M-148 and 543).
