Married 2nd Christina Hipp, daughter of John Hipp and Sussana. During the Rev. War, Francis Summer served in the militia under Capt. Philemon Waters after the fall of Charleston. (Accounts Audited 7523, Stub Index, 2665). Francis Summer made will in 1810, a transcript of which is appended to G. Summer's history of the family in his "newberry Co., SC, Historial and Genealogical Annal.
