William Perkins b.1755 CT served in the Revolutionary War and fought with the CT State Troops. His service record was transfered and acredited to the state of VERMONT. He was a resident of Pomfret,Windsor Co., Vermont in 1781 and is listed as a "FREEMAN".He then resided in Canada (1805-1837) and resided in Crownpoint,Essex Co.,NY until his death.
***I am most interested in the where-a-bouts of his son named, JOHN PERKINS b.1796 VT. He appears to be my ancestor, John C.Perkins b.1796 VT who married Hannah Russell. She was the daughter of ABSALOM & ANNA {BABCOCK} RUSSELL.***
Absalom Russell b.3-12-1777 Chesterfield, MA is a direct descendant of William & Martha Russell who arrived in Cambridge,MA in 1636.
Many New England families can trace their lineage back to Wm.& Martha Russell of Cambridge,MA if they find a RUSSELL in their line.
Absalom Russell's lineage is.................................
(Absalom6,John5,John4,John3,John2,William1}
Absalom Russell b.1777 m.3-12-1800 Ontario Co.,N.Y to ANNA BABCOCK, dau. of George & Susanna {Sheldon} BABCOCK.
He was a busy man, traveling and making his way acrossed NY State and hiding from the census takers (grin).
1850 is when he first appears on ANY census (age 74).
At this time he is living with the family of, Thomas & Emma/Amy HART in Kendal,Orleans Co.,N.Y. In 1855, Emma/Amy Hart is listed in the N.Y state census as being born in Wyoming Co.,N.Y.
It is my opinion that Emma or Amy Hart was also a child of Absalom & Anna {Babcock} Russell.
Another child of theirs was, Charles Philip Russell b.1810 N.Y. He resided in Jackson Co.,MI.He was there prior to the 1840 MI census where he appears listed as, C.P.Russell.
I seek further information on the family of C.P.Russell of Jackson Co.,MI 1840-1880.
