I am just looking around in this to see history of my maiden name. I am Tracy Deon Read. My maiden name is Timmons. I live in Ft Worth Tx and was born in Midland Texas. I was raised in Odessa Texas and eventually moved to Cleburne Texas until I graduated in 1981. After graduation I moved to Ft Worth. My Mother is Minnie Louise Timmons, Born Oct 11, 1935 and died April 24, 2003. My Dad is Garland Ellison ("Tim") Timmons Sr. Brn Aug 4, 1932, Ft Davis Tx - ESPY RANCH; Son of Rueben E ("CAP") Timmons - Brn Sept 3, 1889 - Died June 1957 AND Lucille Tolbert Timmons Brn July 30, 1896 - Died December 10, 1949.
My Dad, Garland Ellison Timmons was reared on a small farm in Stanton Tx to the age of 12, when the family moved moved to a small farm/ranch outside of Midland Tx. My Dad graduated from Midland High School in 1949. He attended Texas Tech and New Mexico State. He served in the US Marines and US Army, Korean Veteran. He returned to work in the oil fields in the Permian Basin learning several different trades and occupations. My Dad, Garland E. Timmons married my Mother, Minnie Louise Burrow in 1951. They had 6 children, Kearby Allen Timmons, Carla Louise Timmons, Ronald Dean Timmons, Garland Ellison Timmons, Jr, myself Tracy Deon Timmons, and Linda Gail Timmons. My parents divorced when I was 3 years old. My Dad, Garland moved to El Paso Texas and married a lady named from Dusty New Mexico. Dad started his own Coating Business in 1965. He sold the business and joined a tank service and construction company in 1968. In 1970, as partner, he sold interest in the company and started Timmons Construction in El Paso TX. He became very successful in the industrial construction and maintenance with Texaco and Chevron Refineries. Dottie Timmons passed away Sept 1987 and was buried in a cemetary up on a mountan in Dusty New Mexico with her Mother "Mom" McCracken. )Dad sold Timmons Construction Company and retired in Dec 1988. He lived in Fabens Tx and owned and operated a cattle ranch in Southeastern AZ, near Duncan AZ. He operated a small farm near Anthony NM. He purchased and learned how to fly his own airplane all over as a hobby. He later married Patricia Acree in June 1988. Dad sold him farms and ranches and purchased 40 acres and home in Joshua Tx.
