Joseph & Elizabeth (Hinackly)Reader m. circa 1839 baby b 1840 John (Sr.),is age 2 1842 w/familyimmigrated from Kent County England to Erie County NY circa Colon, Griffin Falls, West Falls NY, where born in USA sons James (the carpenter), William Henry (wildcat hank) perhaps Charles (NY Fair Charlie). Age 17 in 1857 son John went to Califoria gold rush, other son William Henry drilled first oil wells in Marietta Ohio. John served in NY Calvary Union Army Civil War, came back home summer of 1864 from Calif "never have to work again as long as he lives" with gold prospected, but to to enlist, get into the war where likely are his brothers, (war over in 1865),then went Michigan m. Emma Amelia Mitchell Reader from PA now living in Howell Mi, so he stayed Michigan, circa Oak Grove, Howell, Cohoctah area, were raised children Howell Michigan William Butler b. 1872, Alvira S (Reader)Vandercook b 1878, John Mitchell Reader b 1888.
